CHP: Missing Santa Cruz Girl May Be In Danger

SANTA CRUZ (CBS13/AP) - A search is underway for a missing girl who was last seen in Santa Cruz over the weekend and is believed to be in danger.

Eight-year-old Madyson Middleton has not been seen since Sunday at around 5:30 p.m. when she was recorded on surveillance video riding her white Razor scooter outside the Tannery Arts Center where she lives with her mother, the Santa Cruz Sentinel reports.

Her mother, Laura Jordan said Monday she is very worried and wants her home safely.

Police and the FBI are involved in the search.

She is 4 feet tall, weighs 48 pounds and has blondish-brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black helmet, purple knee-length dress with black leggings, and her hair was pulled to the side in a braid.

Helicopters are searching the forest and the coastline. The U.S. Coast Guard is searching the ocean.
