Large Pig Found Wandering Near Highway 99 And Broadway

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — If you lost a 500-pound pig, the Front Street Animal Shelter might be able to help you.

The shelter posted a picture of the big female pig on Highway 99 near Broadway on Friday morning. The pretty porcine is currently being held at Sacramento County Animal Shelter on Bradshaw Road.

While the pig won't be available for adoption this weekend—gotta find that original owner after all—both shelters have specials going on as they fill up.

Front Street is offering fixed dogs, cats, and rabbits for free, pending an application and interview. To see a selection of the animals available, click on the links above.

The Bradshaw shelter cut its adoption fees as of Friday. Dogs are $75 to adopt, and cats are $50 to adopt. See what cats, dogs and other animals are available.
