Gas Leak Prompts Evacuation Of Cordova High School

RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) – Cordova High School was evacuated as crews investigated a gas leak Wednesday morning.

Daniel Thigpen, Folsom-Cordova Unified School District's public information officer, says it appears a construction crew working on the new performing arts center hit a gas line, causing the leak.

Students were evacuated to Mills Middle School's soccer field next door.

A little after 11:30 a.m., crews were able to shut the gas line off.

Students have since been let back into the school for lunch. With there not being any gas available at the school for the time being, the district says they will be bringing in food for the students' lunch.
