Four Men Rescued After Boat Sinks On Lake Tahoe

ZEPHYR COVE (CBS13) -- Four Bay Area men were rescued by the Tahoe Douglas Fire Prevention District after their rented boat sank Saturday evening.

The men survived for hours using a water cooler and a seat cushion as flotation devices. Fellow lake visitors heard the men screaming for help and alerted the department to their predicament.

According to officer Eric Guevin, the 21-foot, open-bow speed boat the men had rented passed all safety standard investigations prior to launching.

The cause of the accident is unknown. The Ski Run Marina is investigating the incident.

All four men have returned to their lodges with no injuries.
