Former UC Davis Aggie Coach Jim Sochor Has Died

DAVIS (CBS13) -- According to a University spokesperson, former UC Davis Football Coach Jim Sochor has died.  The university issued a statement late Wednesday night confirming the death of the Coach, who was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.

Jim Sochor was coach from 1970-1988 and the football field at Aggie Stadium was subsequently named after him.  Sochor was battling a lengthy illness according to UC Davis.  He was 77 years old.
