Former Stanislaus DA Candidate Arrested In Connection To Murder Of Turlock Man

MODESTO (CBS13) – Police say they have issued an arrest warrant for nine people, including a Modesto attorney, in connection to the case of a Turlock man found dead in 2013.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department have arrested Frank Clifford Carson, a man who had previously run for Stanislaus County District Attorney. Carson is facing first degree murder, among other charges, according to the affidavit.

The arrests stem from the murder case of Turlock man Korey Kauffman – a man who went missing in 2012 and whose body was later found a year later by hunters in in the Stanislaus National Forest.

One man, Robert Lee Woody, has already been charged with Kauffman's murder.

Along with Carson and Woody, four others were named as suspects facing first degree murder charges – Georgia Geanette Defilippo, Daljit Singh Atwal, Baljit Singh Athwal and Walter Westley Wells.

Three others – Christina Anne Defilippo, Scott J. McFarlane and Eduardo Quintanar Jr. – were named as alleged conspirators in the case.

The sheriff's department will be holding a press conference at 3 p.m. Friday to talk about the investigation and arrests.
