Former Cal Fire Chief Accused Of Killing Fiancée Pleads Not Guilty

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The former Cal Fire chief accused of murder has entered a "not guilty" plea at a hearing Monday.

Investigators say this past May,Orville Fleming murdered his live-in girlfriend Sarah Douglas. Douglas was found stabbed and strangled to death in the home she shared with Fleming near Elk Grove.

Fleming was arrested by police 15 days later.

Sarah's mom Trudy is hoping for a "guilty" verdict.

"Every single day I want him to think of what he did to her. You not only stabbed, her you strangled her," Trudie said.

Fleming will be back in court on Dec. 16.
