Folsom Police Officer Will Run CIM In Full Uniform

FOLSOM (CBS13) - Running a full marathon is tough enough, but one local police officer is taking it to the next level.

The Folsom Police Department says Officer Eric Baade will be running the upcoming California International Marathon in full uniform - soft body armor, duty belt, boots and all. He plans on running the entire 26.2 miles in full uniform.

Officer Baade aims to raise awareness for officers killed in the line of duty. Two organizations, Norcal COPS and the Folsom Police Motor Officers Association, have partnered with Baade for the run.

Updates on Officer Baade's training and progress will be posted to the Running for Fallen Officers Facebook page.

The California International Marathon is scheduled for Dec. 6. The race begins at Folsom Dam and ends at the California State Capitol.
