Folsom Boy Hit By Car Dies

FOLSOM (CBS13) - An 11-year-old boy who was hit while riding his bike across a Folsom street has died.

On Monday, prior to 6:45 p.m., Calvin Shuh was crossing East Natoma Street at Cameron Drive when he was hit by a vehicle and suffered severe injuries. He was taken to the hospital, according to a statement from Folsom Police Department.

Suh later died of his injuries, Folsom Middle School Principal John Bliss confirms.

In a message on the school's PTO Facebook page Bliss says, "It is difficult to express the pain we feel as a school community when we lose one of our own. In the meantime, please keep Calvin's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

Suh was wearing a helmet at the time.

East Natoma Drive is a four-lane road. There are no traffic controls or a cross walk at the intersection of Cameron Drive.

The driver of the car was injured and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
