Fireworks Safety This Fourth Of July

Fireworks are beautiful but they can be dangerous.

Firework injuries aren't just burns, they can include loss of hearing, loss of vision, and worse.

Dr. Christopher Bayne at UC Davis Health System has seen some of the worst.

Dr. Bayne says,

"Some of these injuries require complete amputation of the hand the finger and further up, unfortunately that can't be undone."

Dr. Bayne recommends that if you suffer one of these injuries or you are around someone else who does, get a clean cloth and apply pressure. Do not try to put a tourniquet on it and call 911.
