Two Fires Near Discovery Park In Sacramento Force Evacuations
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Vegetation fires burning in the Discovery Park area forced evacuations on Tuesday.
CBS Radio on Commerce Way was evacuated.
Chris Harvey with the Sacramento Fire Department says two fires burned in the Garden Highway area. One at Garden Highway and Truxel Road gave firefighters problems with access, hampering the firefight.
The second fire at Highway 160 near the Northgate Boulevard offramp went to three alarms and was spreading in three different directions as crews tried to get a handle on it.
At one point, the fire jumped the road, threatening homes, but firefighters were able to get a handle on the fire.
