Firefighters Battling Wildfire Near Valley Springs

VALLEY SPRINGS (CBS13) -- A Calfire spokesperson says firefighters have contained 30 percent of a 15-acre fire in Calaveras County.  The fire started around 3:30 p.m. Sunday and is being called the "Lombardi Fire."

According to Calfire, the fire is off Highway 26 and Highway 12, four miles southwest of Mokelumne Hill.

As of 8 p.m., the fire's forward progress had been stopped. Crews believe that with the low winds and increased humidity of the evening, the fire should be contained by Sunday night.
