Firefighter Injured While Rescuing Resident During Apartment Fire
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - One firefighter and a man are in the hospital this morning after a fire ripped through an apartment building in Sacramento.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire inside one of the units at Cancun Palace Apartments on Plaza Avenue.
Neighbors kicked down the door to try to rescue a man inside the unit, but say they couldn't find him.
A firefighter went inside and was able to find the man, burning his hand in the process. Both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The extent of the resident's injuries is unknown.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
