Firefighter Injured, 2 Dogs Die In Sacramento County House Fire

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - A firefighter was injured in a house fire early Thursday morning, officials say.

The scene is along Bradshaw Road, just north of Calvine Road.

Metro Fire crews responded to the scene a little after 4:30 a.m. and found a heavy black smoke coming from the back of a single-story home. Several crews responded to the scene, and the response blocked all of northbound Bradshaw Road in the area.

Crews got a handle on the flames, but one firefighter was injured in the incident and transported to the hospital. The firefighter's injuries are said to be minor.

Two dogs died in the fire, firefighters said.

The fire caused extensive damage to the home, Metro Fire says. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
