1 Dead, 4 Others Injured In Stockton After SUV Collides With Fire Truck

STOCKTON (CBS13) - One person is dead and several others injured after an SUV hit a fire truck in Stockton.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Filbert and Myrtle streets. The SUV was heading west on Filbert Street when it hit the side of the fire truck that was traveling northbound on Filbert Street, say police.

Five firefighters were on the truck at the time, according to a statement from the Stockton Police Department. Three suffered minor injuries.

A passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries. The driver of the SUV was alert when they were taken to the hospital.

The off-ramp from westbound Highway 4 to Filbert Street is closed to traffic. Was expected to be closed for five to six hours.
