Fire Destroys Auto Shop In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Several fire crews battled a blaze at an auto shop in Sacramento that burned for hours on Monday morning.

The fire started around 4:15 a.m. at PM Motorsports on the corner of 34th Street and Stockton Boulevard. At one point, the fire was up to three alarms as flames leaped about 40 feet into the air.

Crews used multiple hoses and ladders to fight the fire that burned dangerously close to a SMUD substation next door. At one point, they were looking for additional hydrants.

The building reportedly had Porsche vehicles and chemicals inside.

Power was temporarily cut to hundreds of homes and businesses in the area and nearby streets were blocked off. No evacuations were ordered despite thick smoke filling the the air.
