Fire Destroys Garage, Vehicle At Citrus Heights Home

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - Residents living in a Citrus Heights home had a close call early Thursday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., fire detectors inside a home at 7137 Twin Brook Court went off and people living there smelled smoke and called 911.

When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage of the home, according to Sacramento Metro Fire Battalion Chief Tom Neville.

Crews were able to cut through the garage door and put out the flames. The garage and a vehicle inside are said to be a complete loss.

All three adults and some pets living inside the home were able to safely escape.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
