Fire Burns Near California State Fair

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A fire burned on the American River Parkway near Cal Expo, firefighters said on Monday.

About 20 units responded to the fire, which put up smoke near the California State Fair.

A similar fire burned just over a year ago. On July 4, 2014, an afternoon grass fire put the annual Cal Expo fireworks display in jeopardy and canceled a Sacramento Republic match, due to poor air quality from the fire.
