Fire At Sacramento County Fourplex Had Firefighters Searching For Elderly Resident

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Crews are investigating the cause of a fire that sent crews on a rescue mission through a fourplex.

The 911 call was placed at 3:30 a.m. When fire crews arrived to the fire on Greenholme Drive, near Hillsdale Boulevard, they found smoke in the area.

Neighbors told firefighters an elderly woman was living in a unit upstairs. It turns out the woman was not there.

Sacramento Metro firefighters crews quickly found the fire in a doorway of a downstairs garage.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
