Few Returning, Reselling Tickets To Sold-Out Bill Cosby Show In Turlock

TURLOCK (CBS13) — Embattled comedian Bill Cosby is scheduled to perform a sold-out show in Turlock later this month, and recent events don't appear to have affected attendance.

The show sold out in August before the new allegations emerged, but the Turlock Community Theater says only a few people have tried to return tickets to the Jan. 18 show.

Cosby became a huge star decades ago, and he was the creator of "The Cosby Show. Teenagers attending school next to where Cosby will perform in two weeks are not very familiar with his success.

Cosby proved he was still popular with fans when the January show sold out, but since then, his star's been tarnished. More than two-dozen women have alleged Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them at some point in his long career.

"I honestly don't care if he comes or not. I haven't heard about it, but if he comes, it'll probably be cool," he said.

At least one main is trying to resell four tickets because of the sexual assault allegations and others say they're not interested in buying them.

However, long time fans of Cosby say regardless of the accusations against him, his standup is funny.

Cosby canceled numerous shows, but the theater says the comedian is keeping Turlock on his calendar. The theater will have extra security on hand.
