Ferrari Catches Fire, Drives Away While Refueling In Martinez

MARTINEZ (CBS13) - A Ferrari burst into flames at an east bay gas station then drove away with no one inside.

It happened Sunday night at the Chevron at Highway 4 and Morello Avenue in Martinez.

The Ferrari's owner, Al Cui, was filling up at a Martinez gas station and says he was putting the nozzle back when he saw a spark.

"I turned to look and realized flames were erupting from above the engine, so I immediately grabbed the fire extinguisher to put it out," said Cui.

But no luck. The car burst into flames inches away from explosive fuel pumps. The gas station owner shut off all the pumps, as a precaution.

"It was such a nice car," said Cui.
