Fast-Moving Storm Expected To Bring Rain, Wind To Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A fast-moving storm is moving through our area that is expected to pack strong winds and rain.

The leading edge of the storm moved into our region just before noon.

A winter storm warning has been issued for the western slope of the Sierra. Snow levels are expected to drop to 5,000 feet by the evening with 15 inches possible in the higher elevations.

Ridgetop gusts of up to 100 mph will be possible from the storm.

Everything should be clearing out by Friday morning with only a slight chance of showers. Recent precipitation has done little to change California's drought situation.
