Fairfield Fire Prompts Evacuations, Closes Part Of Highway 12

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — A three-alarm grass fire has prompted evacuations along Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Fairfield Vista Apartments have been evacuated as the fire continues to spread.

Fairfield fire officials have asked for an aerial attack as the flames are a threat to nearby homes.

One lane of Highway 12 has been closed around Pennsylvania Avenue, while Pennsylvania Avenue has been closed in both directions.
