Ex-Orange County Teacher Gets Prison For Molestation, Porn

DANA POINT, Calif. (AP) — A former Orange County high school teacher has been sentenced to five years in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a teenage boy he met while serving as a court-appointed advocate.

The Orange County Register reports Friday (http://bit.ly/2cCvGrC ) that 50-year-old Ezequiel Barragan agreed to a deal requiring he plead guilty to multiple felony counts — including performing lewd acts on a child and possession of child pornography.

The Aliso Viejo resident, a former teacher at Dana Hills High, was arrested last May during a child porn probe by the US Postal Service.

During the investigation, officials discovered that Barragan also allegedly engaged in sexual relations with a minor.

Prosecutors said Barragan met the alleged victim while volunteering with the Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children, helping children and teens who had suffered abuse and neglect.
