Ex-Oakland Raider Napoleon Harris Stops Muggers During Pizza Delivery

CHICAGO (CBS) — A former Oakland Raiders linebacker helped deliver justice to muggers who tried to rob him during a phony pizza delivery.

Illinois State Sen. Napoleon Harris owns two pizza franchises and decided one night to give his delivery crew a break and take a pizza out on his own. It turns out that delivery was actually a setup by four men who called in an order to an abandoned house in hopes of mugging a hapless pizza delivery person.

Instead, they got the 6'3", 250-pound former linebacker for the Oakland Raiders. His spokesman says attempts to choke out Harris were unsuccessful and the men fled. Harris followed them in his SUV and tipped cops off to where the men were going.

In another twist, the vehicle the suspects fled in was stolen and belonged to a missing man who was later found dead in Georgia. The man's blood was found inside the vehicle.
