Emergency Landing At Sacramento International Airport

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - There was a scare in the air Wednesday for passengers on board an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Sacramento International Airport.

The pilot of flight 2275 declared an in-flight emergency after a sensor showed problems with the landing gear.

The plane made two low passes over the airfield, just 100 feet off the ground, so emergency crews could visually inspect the gear.

Passengers say they were told to assume the crash position as the plane made a final approach to the runway.

The aircraft then landed safely, but had to be towed back to the terminal so mechanics could inspect the damage.

Passengers were delayed about an hour and a half before they were allowed to get off the plane.
