Elk Grove Schools Employee Arrested On Child Molestation Charges

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — An Elk Grove schools employee was arrested on molestation charges on Friday.

Eric Echols, 29, was assigned as a para-educator working at Prairie Elementary School in Sacramento when he molested at least six children between the ages of 7 and 8 years old, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said.

The alleged molestations happened between July 2015 and June 2016.

The allegations came to light this July, and Echols was placed on administrative leave until his arrest on Friday.

Echols was also a substitute teacher at other schools in the Elk Grove district.

He's being held on $900,000 bail.
