2 teens arrested by Elk Grove police on suspicion of motor vehicle theft charges

Teens arrested for stealing vehicle in Elk Grove

ELK GROVE – Two teens are now under arrest after a search that prompted a short precautionary lockdown at an Elk Grove school Monday morning.

Elk Grove police said they were searching the area of Romanzo and Storia Way in the Laguna area, near Laguna Creek High School. 

The school went on a precautionary lockdown during the search. 

Officers located one of the suspects, a 15-year-old, during the initial search. The perimeter was then broken down and the school went off lockdown. 

Later Monday morning, Elk Grove police announced that the second suspect -- a 14-year-old -- had been taken into custody at Laguna Creek High. 

Both teens are now facing multiple charges, including motor vehicle theft, conspiracy, and resisting arrest.
