Elk Grove Motorcycle Officers Ride Through Diesel Spill, Crash

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – An Elk Grove Police Department motorcycle officer was hurt during a crash Thursday morning.

The scene is near E. Stockton Boulevard and Grant Line Road.

Police say two officers riding their motorcycles in formation happened upon a 60-foot diesel spill. The officers then fell.

One officer was injured during the incident, while the other officer stayed at the scene.

The officers were on their way to funeral for fallen San Jose police officer Michael Johnson, Chris Trim with the Elk Grove Police Department said.

Police are investigating what caused the diesel spill.
