Elderly Woman Spends Mother's Day Chasing After Robbery Suspects

STOCKTON (CBS13) – A Stockton woman found herself chasing after a couple of suspects who had just robbed her daughter, police say.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday along the 3100 block of Stefano Way, according to the Stockton Police Department. A woman had just come from shopping when two men walked up to her.

Police say that one of the men tried to take the woman's bags, but she put up a fight. The man then went for the woman's gold chain and ripped it from her neck.

Both men then took off running to a car waiting by a nearby house. But, this is when the woman's elderly mother started chasing after the suspects, yelling for help.

But, once in the car the suspect in the passenger seat fired off a round from a small gun into the air, police say.

Only a vague description of the suspects has been given.
