Egyptian Student In California May Be Deported After Alleged Trump Threat

ORANGE, Calif. (AP) - A student from Egypt is facing deportation after being investigated by federal agents for posting on his Facebook page that he was willing to kill Donald Trump and the world would thank him.

Attorney Hani Bushra says 23-year-old Emadeldin Elsayed was arrested by immigration authorities last month at the Los Angeles-area flight school he attended. He is facing a deportation hearing.

The Associated Press interviewed Elsayed by phone from jail. He called the post stupid and said he wrote it because he was angered by Trump's comments about Muslims. He said he immediately regretted it, and he never intended to harm anyone.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement says Elsayed was arrested because he violated the terms of his visa. Officials declined to discuss the case in detail.
