Drivers Rattled After Two Cars Shot In Downtown Roseville
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — After two drivers were shot at on the road on Wednesday night, nerves are rattled in downtown Roseville.
The two incidents happened along Vernon Street—one on the 300 block, the other near the Grant intersection.
Jim Schroeder was driving through downtown Roseville on Wednesday. It's a drive he makes quite often. As he was passing by a parking structure, he noticed something hit his car. At first he thought it was a rock. Then he realized the truth.
"I've been shot at while driving down the street," he said.
His back window shattered, only held together by a layer of tinting. The roof of the car was dented from another shot. Schroeder says his sunroof was open and he could have easily been injured.
Roseville Police say his car was hit by either a BB or pellet gun, and he's not the only one. Minutes before, a report of another incident came from just down the road.
"Even if its a water balloon, or a rock or something, you don't know what the driver might do when something hits their car," said Roseville Police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther. "Could be a dangerous situation."
Schroeder believes the shots came from the parking garage, because of the angle the pellets came down.
"When you look at the car you can see they come from a downward angle," he said. "That's the only thing high enough where you could get up."
