School Bus Rear-Ended Near Placerville; 10 Students Treated For Minor Injuries

PLACERVILLE (CBS13) - Authorities say 10 students were transported to the hospital for minor injuries after the bus they were riding in was rear-ended by a driver Friday afternoon.

California Highway Patrol says the bus was on Highway 50 just west of Mosquito Road in the Placerville area. The bus was in stop and go traffic and going at only about 10 mph.

The bus stopped while approaching some traffic, but a driver following behind didn't slow and rear-ended the bus at about 5-10 mph.

Several students were injured by the impact of the crash. In total, 10 students who were on board were transported to the hospital. All are only being looked at for minor injuries.

CHP is continuing to investigate the incident.
