Driver Crashes In Elk Grove, Runs From Police

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police are looking for a driver who crashed following a pursuit.

Elk Grove police say officers began chasing the suspect at a high rate of speed around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The driver then crashed at the intersection of Calvine and Bradshaw Road.

"He was driving very erratically, excessive speed, driving on the wrong side of the road and at that time the officer decided it was unsafe to continue the pursuit, so he just discontinued the pursuit," said Lt. Dan Schnepple with Elk Grove police.

No one was hurt in the crash. Officers set up a perimeter to look for the driver, but they did not find him.

Investigators say the suspect's car was stolen and the driver was wanted for several car and home burglaries in the Galt area.
