UPDATE: Man Accused Of Swinging Pipe In Downtown Sacramento Taken Into Custody

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A Downtown Sacramento intersection is back open following an incident involving a man swinging a metal pipe.

Police went to the area of L and 4th streets around 7:18 a.m. Wednesday after someone reported the man was waving a pipe in a threatening manner.

When officers arrived on the scene and approached the man, he reportedly threatened them as well, according to a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.

The man was eventually taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
