Doug Ose's Lead Over Ami Bera Shrinks To 530 Votes For 7th U.S. House District

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The race between Democratic incumbent Ami Bera and Republican challenger for the 7th House district drew much closer on Monday.

New election results from Sacramento County give Ose a 530-vote lead, down from more than 2,000 on Friday.

The race has drawn nationwide attention and plenty of money from out-of-state donors to make it one of the most expensive seats up for grabs this election year.

Both sides have been challenging votes in an increasingly heated contest as every vote matters.

The next vote count is expected on Wednesday, as more than 23,000 ballots still have yet to be counted.

More than 5,000 undervotes were included in the count, meaning those people did not cast a vote in the race or the vote was rejected.
