"Once you're diagnosed with cancer, you're faced with your mortality before you're ready to face it," said one woman.

More than ever, women are opting to remove both their breasts to prevent breast cancer.

"I wanted to do whatever I could to get it out of my body," she said.

The majority are doing it without even being diagnosed.

"I didn't want to risk it," said another woman.
