Dog Survives Crash On Los Angeles Freeway That Killed 2

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Authorities say a dog survived a car crash on a Southern California freeway that left a man and woman dead.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver of a 2008 Mercedes swerved on State Route 118 in Chatsworth, crashed through a guardrail and tumbled down a steep embankment shortly after midnight Sunday.

The car landed on its roof.

The driver and his passenger were found in a flood control channel below the freeway. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The small dog appeared uninjured and was taken by an animal services officer.
