Dog, cat die in early morning fire at Isleton mobile home
ISLETON – Several pets died in a fire that ripped through a mobile home in Isleton early Wednesday morning, firefighters say.
The fire was first reported around 12:30 a.m. along W. Brannan Island Road near the Spindrift Marina.
Firefighters with the River Delta Fire Department responded to the scene and found that the flames had spread to two vehicles and a golf cart.
The occupant of the home was able to escape without injury, but firefighters say there was no working fire alarm.
A dog and a cat died in the fire, crews say.
Exactly what started the fire is under investigation. Firefighters have deemed it suspicious.
