Discovery Park Scheduled For Closure Ahead Of Storm
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - With high water levels coming to the American River, officials are warning that many parts of the American River Parkway will be under water.
In anticipation of Thursday's storm, the Nimbus Dam will be increasing its water flow. This means that several areas downstream in the American River Parkway will be inundated. Discovery Park is one of those areas.

The park will be closed from Wednesday night into Monday morning. Discovery Park is designed to flood during these kinds of conditions, officials say.
Watt Avenue park is being monitored and may close depending on weather conditions.
Officials are urging caution as the American River will be running higher and faster than normal.
