Sacramento's Discovery Park reopens after closure due to flooding

SACRAMENTO – Sacramento's Discovery Park has reopened following a closure in early February due to flooding.

Sacramento County Regional Parks closed the park and other riverfront facilities on Feb. 3 as it anticipated the area to flood from incoming storms. 

These closures are common during winter months and Discovery Park is no stranger to extended closures due to flooding. 

But after more than a month, crews were able to clear the park and reopened it on Thursday. 

The Howe Avenue Access and Watt Avenue Access, which were also closed in early February, reopened earlier this month.
