Discovery Bay Teen Suspected Of Fatally Stabbing Boy, 9

DISCOVERY BAY (CBS13) – A young man is suspected of stabbing a 9-year-old boy to death in Discovery Bay Sunday morning.

The incident happened on the 1900 block of Frost Way, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say that, just after 10 a.m., someone called to report a stabbing. Once at the scene, deputies found that a 9-year-old boy had been stabbed.

The boy was taken to the hospital by a family member. He was later pronounced dead, deputies say.

Deputies believe that 18-year-old William Schultz stabbed the boy, but it is unclear why. After a short time on the run, the sheriff's office announced just before 4 p.m. that Schultz had been arrested.
