Newcastle Double Shooting Suspect Arrested In Rocklin

NEWCASTLE (CBS13) – Authorities in Placer County say a person is dead after a shooting in Newcastle Thursday morning.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened on Oakhurst Way in Newcastle. Deputies were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. for a reported shooting.

One victim has died in the shooting, while another person has been wounded. The other person is expected to survive, authorities say.

Detectives identified the suspect as 28-year-old Robert Carlo Yandolino.

Authorities cornered Yandolino at an apartment near Whitney High School in Rocklin Thursday afternoon, prompting the school to go on precautionary lockdown.

Yandolino was soon taken into custody.
