Detectives: Roseville Teen Planned To Sexually Assault Children

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – A Roseville teen is facing charges of threatening children and handing out pornography.

Roseville Police say 18-year-old Colin La Grand Downs was arrested Friday after detectives somehow got word that the teen planned to sexually assault children. A search warrant was soon obtained and officers showed up at Downs' home.

At his home, detectives say they found evidence Downs had been sending lewd texts to minors from around the area. An illegal billy club was also allegedly found in Downs' home, according to detectives.

Detectives say they have not found any evidence that Downs has attacked any children, but they are continuing to investigate.

Downs has been arrested and he's being held at Placer County Jail on $750,000 bail.
