Detectives: Drug Deal Gone Bad Leads To Fatal Shooting In Fair Oaks

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) – The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is investigating a homicide in Fair Oaks.

Deputies say a 25-year-old was found slumped over in a car Saturday night along the 10500 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Prior to the shooting, witnesses called police reporting two cars chasing each other.

Sunday afternoon, detectives arrested the suspect in the shooting in Vallejo. He has been identified as 24-year-old North Highlands resident Kane Am Thompson.

Thompson was booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing a charge of murder.

Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.
