Detectives: 3 Found Dead In Calaveras County Were Trespassing

CALAVERAS COUNTY (CBS13) – Authorities say two people have been arrested for the shooting that left three people dead and a small Calaveras County community on edge.

According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office, detectives believe 38-year-old Leon Michael Grammer called his brother, 30-year-old Jeremiah Lee Barrett, over to his Rail Road Flat home after he spotted three trespassers.

Both men opened fire at the trespassers, detectives say.

The trespassers are believed to have stealing marijuana from a medicinal pot garden at the home. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Grammer and Barrett were arrested after being interviewed by detectives.  Barrett is facing a charge of murder, while both men are facing charges of conspiracy.

The names of people killed have not been released.

Barrett is being held on $2,500,000 bail, while Grammer on $30,000.
