Deputies Tell Illinois Man To Stop Shooting Icicles Off Home With .22 Handgun

ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP, ILL. (CBS) - An Illinois man is a dead-eye when it comes to knocking icicles off his home. But it was his unique method for removing them that had sheriff's deputies a little concerned.

According to WBBM-TV, the 80-year-old man was using a gun to shoot the icicles off of his house.

A neighbor spotted the man shooting the icicles from the roof of the second story of his home on January 11 in west suburban St. Charles Township, Ill., Kane County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Pat Gengler told the station.

Gengler said the man was using a .22 revolver.

Deputies told the man to stop, but stopped short of citing him or filing criminal charges.
