Deputies: Men Caught Stealing From Funeral Guests

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities have arrested two men for breaking into a car at a cemetery and stealing cash while mourners were at a funeral a few feet away.

The Fresno Bee reports Wednesday that Marcos Bakle and Alfonso Gutierrez were arrested Tuesday after a tip from a good Samaritan, who took a picture of the two men as they sped away.

Deputies discovered a device inside the suspects' vehicle, which was used to pop open locks without creating a visible sign that the car had been burglarized. Authorities say they grabbed a purse, drove off and then came back to return the purse to the car without the cash inside. They then drove away.

Deputies say the men may also be connected to a similar burglary at a different cemetery on Oct. 15. It was not immediately known if the men have attorneys.
