Deputies: Man Accidentally Fires Gun, Kills 18-Year-Old Woman

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) – A 22-year-old is behind bars in connection with a deadly shooting in Carmichael.

The incident happened at an apartment complex along the 5900 block of Sutter Avenue. Deputies showed up at the scene after a woman was reportedly shot.

An 18-year-old woman was found dead. She had been shot in the chest, deputies say.

Kenyatta Brown was apparently messing around with a gun and somehow accidentally fired it, deputies say. He has been arrested and is facing the charge of involuntary manslaughter.
