Deputies Find Runaway, Decide To Walk Him Home

EL DORADO (CBS13) – One deputy decided it was time to go above and beyond the call of duty after finding a runaway boy.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says they were called on Saturday about a boy who had run away from a group home in El Dorado. Deputies showed up at a rural area and began to search.

About a mile away, deputies found the boy. He was reportedly frustrated, depressed but in good health.

Recognizing that the boy needed someone to talk to, the deputies decided to listen to him for a while.

The deputies decided to walk with the boy back home instead of making him get into their patrol car.

A photo taken by deputies and posted to the El Dorado Sheriff's Facebook page that describes the incident has garnered more than 2,000 likes.
